2018 UCOP Town Hall series continues with Q3 event
On Sept. 18, President Napolitano hosted the third UCOP town hall of the year. The quarterly forum is designed to provide UCOP staff an opportunity to hear updates on UC business and ask questions. More than 900 employees joined in person or online.
The president began the meeting by thanking staff for their work and ongoing commitment to UC, specifically recognizing UCPath teams across the state as the new payroll system goes live for UCLA and UC Santa Barbara employees.
She also provided updates on the UCOP restructuring effort, new regents and preparation for a new California governor, as well as UC’s sustainability work and recent recognition in several national rankings of colleges and universities.
Questions from staff focused on issues ranging from the current U.S. Supreme Court confirmation hearings to employee benefits that assist with student loan repayment. Employees interested in learning more about the Federal Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness Program are encouraged to visit UCnet for an overview and where to go for additional information.
