A Southern California “super bloom” is coming
Expert predictions are in: The recent drenching showers may soon lead to beautiful desert flowers! UCPath employees are in for a treat and other OP employees may want to plan a road trip. This year’s flowers may rival the fantastic displays of 2017.
“Many deserts are soaked and there is now a much greater chance for a ‘super bloom,’ especially in those areas that received high rainfall,” says Richard A. Minnich, Ph.D., in a recent Newsweek article. Minnich, who is a professor of earth sciences at UC Riverside, notes that the hillsides around campus are already filled with California poppies.
Check out the Newsweek article for a detailed description of where to catch California wildflowers.
