Software updates to your UCOP Windows device

Typically, when we are working on site, software updates for Windows laptops and desktops take place automatically over the UCOP network. Now that most staff are working from home, the IT Client Services Desktop Engineering team has been developing a new process for applying these monthly updates. Starting Friday, May 29, updates for Windows users will be applied automatically when you have an active Internet connection. No action is required on your part. (Mac users will continue to manually update their systems.)

Windows software licensing renewal and password changes 

All staff need to periodically connect to VPN to renew Microsoft software licensing or change Windows device passwords. If you do not have VPN installed, or if you need help, contact the Service Desk at ServiceDesk@ucop.edu or 510-987-0457.
