UC students ask lawmakers to increase financial aid
UC students have joined with their peers from across the country in a concerted effort to advocate for an increase in federal financial aid for low-income students.
The Double the Pell campaign is calling on Congress to reinvest in the Pell Grant program, the primary source of federal aid for low-income college students.
On Feb. 23, UC students testified before federal lawmakers at a congressional briefing organized by the UC Student Association. President Drake joined them, saying, “Millions of students face very difficult choices about how to support themselves and their families. Doubling the Pell would give them much-needed relief.”
