UCOP stands against anti-Asian violence

The UCOP community has been shaken by recent anti-Asian violence in Oakland, the Bay Area and around the country. On March 11, President Drake emailed a message regarding anti-Asian violence to all UCOP staff. In it, he condemned these actions and called upon all colleagues to continue to support one another and work to counter racism. This follows a March 8 statement signed by several UCOP staff affinity groups.
The UCOP Culture, Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion and Graduate, Undergraduate and Equity Affairs organized a series of open-forum community conversations to provide staff an opportunity to voice their opinions of recent anti-Asian violence in a safe, respectful space. As a community, UCOP will continue to work to create an inclusive workplace culture that celebrates diversity, promotes mutual respect and encourages open communication.
