Tune in for BSFO Breast Cancer-focused events this week
Research shows that about 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer — and Black women are most likely to die from the disease. The UCOP Black Staff and Faculty Organization (BSFO) has launched its first-ever health week focused on breast cancer education and awareness.
The first event, held Monday, featured Dr. Cheryl Ewing of UCSF Health. Dr. Ewing spoke about breast cancer risk factors, clinical trials, and other important health topics relevant to the Black community. Watch a recording of Dr. Ewing’s presentation. Early Tuesday morning, staff were invited to tune in to a healing meditation session featuring LeNaya Smith Crawford, The Holistic MFT.
