Show your support for climate-focused research

Gov. Gavin Newsom’s budget proposal includes critical funding to protect Californians from the effects of climate change, including $185 million for the University of California to turn its cutting-edge research into scalable solutions.

This funding will allow UC to:

  • Accelerate research and evidence-based solutions that protect our communities from drought, wildfire, flooding and other impacts of our warming climate.
  • Expand UC’s network of incubators, accelerators and innovation centers to focus on the development of new products, services, and solutions to the climate crisis. Three new innovation centers will host makerspaces, workforce training, student and citizen education, mentor networks, investments, critical seed funding, and startup incubators.
  • Launch climate-focused Workforce Development and Training Hubs that provide educational opportunities for students and non-degree seeking individuals to apply a climate lens to their careers.

This isn’t yet a done deal – we need state lawmakers to support the proposal. Join the UC Advocacy Network in asking lawmakers to support climate action and resiliency funding for UC:
