Become a stronger communicator with the Communication Series Certificate
UCOP Learning and Development is launching a new learning certificate opportunity focused on helping colleagues develop their communication skills! Learn written and verbal communication techniques to make effective and positive professional impacts.
Certificate requirements
To receive a Communication Series Certificate of Completion, you must attend five sessions — three core classes and two elective classes of your choice, as listed below. You can attend the classes in any order, and if you’ve completed any courses in the series within the last two years, they will count towards your certificate.

Sign up for Get to the Point, taking place Aug. 23 and Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (PT).
This writing workshop helps professionals learn to communicate clearly and concisely. You’ll learn practical tips and tools you can immediately use to make your written communications more effective. Increase the clarity of your communications, respond effectively and compel action from your colleages!
Specifically, you’ll learn how to:
- Meet the needs of today’s busy readers
- Use language that is clear and professional
- Edit for brevity, clarity and correctness
- Write powerful openings and closings
- Format material for easy reading
