Boaz Ashkenazy

As the co-founder and CEO of Simply Augmented, Boaz is a pioneering force in transforming the workplace of the future through the strategic deployment of AI in business operations. Boaz brings a unique perspective that draws on his experience at Meta, where he played a role in developing internal tools to boost employee productivity. Prior to Meta, he was the co-founder of a series of emerging tech startups in the design, e-commerce and remote meeting space. As one of the driving forces behind Simply Augmented, Boaz is committed to establishing a premier AI-first solutions provider that empowers businesses to harness generative AI for optimizing their core business workflows. Boaz is also the creator and host of the Shift AI podcast, which is syndicated through Geekwire. The podcast serves as a platform for spotlighting thought leaders who are pushing the boundaries in AI and the future of work.

Arturo Gonzalez, Ph.D. – Panelist

Arturo Gonzalez, Ph.D.

Arturo draws on his doctorate in economics to provide expertise in technology (AI, data, digital platforms), markets (IP/copyright, mergers, regulation) and financial services (fin-tech, central bank digital currencies, fair lending, anti‐money laundering). He most recently held senior leadership positions at Meta, Visa and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He has also held other notable positions in government, private industry and educational institutions. Arturo serves as a member of the UC Santa Barbara Alumni Board of Directors and the Dean’s Advisory Board of the Clinton School of Public Service. He has been recognized for his accomplishments by the Richard Riordan Programs and UCLA Anderson School of Management (2022 Riordan Hall of Fame inductee and 2018 Legacy Award recipient). Upon graduation from UC Santa Barbara, he was recognized with the Lancaster Dissertation Award for Best Dissertation in Social Sciences, 1996-1998. 

Shalini Ananda, Ph.D. – Panelist

Shalini Ananda, Ph.D.

Shalini is a sought-after educator and pioneering engineer with more than a decade of experience. She specializes in generative AI, particularly as it applies to the fields of sustainability and health care. She is the assistant chair of the AI Program at UC Santa Cruz Silicon Valley Extension and the founder of Anandamide Sound Machine, where she creates algorithmic music using advanced AI techniques. She also works as a prompt design expert at Scale AI, where she works with large language models to enhance performance in code generation for C++ and Python. Shalini’s previous roles include working as a machine learning specialist at EdCast, where she built models for upskilling and knowledge tracing, and as the co-founding CTO of CRIXlabs, Inc. (DBA Quantified Skin) which advanced mobile skin diagnosis and applied deep learning to personalized care. While at Stanford University for a postdoctoral position, she co-invented NanoSim for biosensing and, as a graduate researcher at UC San Diego, she addressed opioid relapse with ML techniques.

Guy Kawasaki, MBA

Guy Kawasaki is the chief evangelist of Canva and the creator of Guy Kawasaki’s Remarkable People podcast. He is an executive fellow of the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and an adjunct professor of the University of New South Wales. He was previously the chief evangelist of Apple and a trustee of the Wikimedia Foundation. Guy is the author of thirteen books, including, “Wise Guy,” “The Art of the Start 2.0,” “The Art of Social Media,” and “Enchantment.” He has a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, an MBA from UCLA and an honorary doctorate from Babson College.
