Tune in Friday for Grad Slam!
How do our minds turn sounds into words? Do healthy forests make healthy humans? What’s the role of the cerebellum in autism? Tune in on Friday, May 3, as UC grad students explore these questions and more at Grad Slam, a UC-wide research communications competition that will be livestreamed beginning at 10:30 a.m. (PT).
Grad Slam provides a glimpse into the incredible breadth of graduate research happening across the UC system. The annual event aims to make research accessible by providing emerging scientists and scholars with the skills to engage the public in their work, in no more than 3 minutes. Contestants have put in months of preparation and training, and have already won their campus competitions – now they’re vying for bragging rights and a share of prize money at the systemwide finale.
After presentations conclude, attendees and livestream viewers can vote online for their favorite talk and help name this year’s People’s Choice award winner. Make sure to participate and share your vote!
