Learn to protect yourself with safety courses from UCOP
Unfortunately, we hear every day about situations where unstable people or those with bad intentions impact the safety of those around them. The best way to protect yourself during an emergency is to gain a basic understanding of personal safety so that you’ll be prepared to act if the need arises.
Two upcoming courses offered in partnership with UCOP Safety and UCOP Learning and Development are designed to help you do just that. Select each course name below to register.
UCOP Safety: Basic Awareness
May 14, 2 – 3 p.m. or June 5, 1 – 2 p.m. (PT)
Program Manager for Security, Risk and Resilience Melissa Collins facilitates this live virtual class focused on basic safety tips to help employees feel informed, alert and safe as they travel to and from the workplace. Participants will have an opportunity to ask safety-related questions.
UCOP Safety: Active Attacker Training
May 23 or June 12, 1 – 2 p.m. (PT)
Learn skills and strategies for responding if you are exposed to an active-attacker situation. The course will review real-life incidents and discuss options in the event of potential similar encounters.
