Managing Implicit Bias | Tuesday, May 30 – This course is to debrief the popular UC Managing Implicit Bias series of eCourses. Join UCOP colleagues to discuss challenges and strategies for managing implicit bias. Participants will walk away with a greater understanding of their own implicit biases and their ability to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion wherever they are.
Self Care for Leaders | Friday, June 2 – Creating the spaces and opportunities to care for yourselves as leaders opens the possibility of sustainability, longevity, and healthy personal and team dynamics. In this course, Dr. Nicole Williams Browning will identify the different components of self care, identify key attributes of each component, highlight self care specific for leaders, and create a plan for better self care.

People Leaders Forum: Team Agreements

The People Leaders Forum is a monthly opportunity for people managers to connect with one another to develop leadership skills, build community, share best practices, swap strategies for navigating current challenges and learn to better support themselves and their teams.
Team Agreements: Team Agreements are co-created rules of engagement that focus on how teams collaborate, communicate and hold each other accountable. In this session you will learn how to facilitate the Team Agreements activity with your own team to co-create your team’s rules of engagement as you navigate a new way of working. This activity involves every individual in a way that is easy to craft, discuss and maintain team agreements.

- Friday, June 9 – SB 1162: California Senate Bill 1162 (SB 1162) requires employers to disclose pay scales on all job postings, as well as that of current employees, upon request. The intent is to assist applicants in the application process to ensure that they are aware of the hiring range that the location can offer before they apply for the position. In this PLF Session, we will discuss this new law and what it means for you as a manager.
UCOP BRC Travel & Entertainment Training

This training is geared toward UCOP employees who travel or book travel on behalf of others. Beginning July 1, 2020, all travel requests will need to be pre-approved in the new Concur system. Travel & entertainment expense reports will be submitted in Concur rather than UCLA Express. Additionally, procurement card (PCard) expenses will be processed through Concur.

In this two-part training we will provide you with all the information you need to create accessible Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and PDF documents. The first session will focus on the principles of accessibility, how to generate accessible Microsoft Office documents, and how to export these to PDF. The second session will focus on Adobe Acrobat and how to edit or enhance accessibility within a PDF file. We will be remediating a Word document during session one and a PDF during session two. While sample documents will be provided, please feel free to bring your own documents to practice on.

UCSB Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification Training
Online: , Register for UCSB Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification Training on
This certificate course will be facilitated UCSB Lean Six Sigma instructors at no cost to participants. Each cohort will consist of 3- four hour sessions with hands on practice, project simulations, and intersession homework. Attendance at all 3 sessions is mandatory for course completion. At the end of the cohort, Participants will receive a Yellow Belt certificate of completion.

Registration: Log in to the UC Learning Center using your UCOP login and password. In the Search box on the left, enter the name of the class you want. Select the session you want, then select the Register box and Submit.
