UC Davis Professor Jean-Xavier Guinard has been appointed the new Associate Vice Provost and Executive Director for the UC Education Abroad Program (UCEAP), effective October 1. He will oversee all UCEAP programming, operations, faculty and staff in his new role.

A delegation from the student-founded UC Haiti Initiative will travel to the Caribbean island of Haiti for a 10-day fact-finding visit on August 14. They are working to establish recovery projects that can ultimately be sustained by the Haitian people.
The brainchild of a UC Santa Barbara alum is easing the commute of UC students and staff. Ride-sharing network Zimride is used by 55 universities, including nine UC campuses.
