A heartfelt ‘Thank You’ from Afghanistan

A program that helps Afghan war widows build economic self-sufficiency got a nice boost from the annual holiday crafts fair, with more than $2,100 in sales of their handmade jewelry. Jan Corlett, who organized the sale, sends a heartfelt thanks to the UCOP community from the Kabul Women Skills Development Association.

The Franklin building reception desk is moving

UCOP staff will return from the holiday break to find the reception desk repositioned to the other side of the lobby. This is being done for staff safety and an improved visitor service. The new vantage point will provide security personnel a clear line of sight to both the turnstiles and elevators as they check in visitors, and will also improve traffic flow.

Don't forget! OP's offices will be closed for Winter Holiday, Dec. 23, 2010-Jan. 2, 2011. There are three working days during the closure: December 23, 28 and 29. You can take accrued vacation, compensatory time off or leave without pay for those days. Learn more.

Pre-order the President's Blend Olive Oil by the end of the day Tuesday, Dec. 7, at a discount. Orders of this special extra virgin olive oil will be ready for pick-up on Thursday, Dec. 16, at the unveiling and tasting event from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Franklin building lobby.
