In need of a caregiver for an elderly parent? A babysitter for the evening? Or someone to walk your dog while you are at work? Starting in 2012, eligible UCOP employees now have access to a new work/life benefit through Sittercity.
The program is now open for enrollment for eligible employees through Sittercity’s UC website. The cost of membership to the site is paid by UC; employees make their own arrangements and pay for the services of the caregivers hired.
Adopted upon advisement of the Systemwide Advisory Committee on the Status of Women, this new self-service website provides you with access to a nationwide network of nearly 2 million babysitters, nannies, elder care providers, tutors, pet sitters/walkers, housekeepers and more, all of whom have gone through an extensive screening process by Sittercity.
Once registered, you can search for caregivers based on more than 40 specific criteria or place an ad for your desired service. Photos, resumes, references and background checks are also available.
