Applications for Communications Advisory Subcommittee open July 14

UCOP employees talking

Are you good at solving problems? Eager to help facilitate staff engagement? Are you interested in learning about employee communications?

The OP Communications Advisory Subcommittee, a new subcommittee of the OP Staff Assembly that will convene this fall, is looking for six people with skills like these.

The idea for the subcommittee originated from the Staff Engagement Initiative, in which staff expressed an interest in helping to strengthen and facilitate communications throughout UCOP. The group will serve in an advisory capacity to Staff Assembly and UCOP Internal Communications on issues involving communications with the OP community.

You can learn more on the OP Staff Assembly website, at the July Friday breakfasts and at two upcoming brown bags this month, where representatives of Staff Assembly and Communications can provide more details and answer your questions (click on date/location to add event to your Outlook calendar):

The application period will formally open on Monday, July 14, and close at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1. You can find a fact sheet and application form on the website.

Members will get involved in such activities as providing input on selected communications, relaying feedback from the OP community, helping to disseminate messages and supporting communications projects. Committee participation is also intended to be a learning experience and professional development opportunity.

Formal meetings will be held quarterly, and other informal interactions, ad hoc groups and periodic open meetings are also anticipated. The committee will be established as a pilot program and its effectiveness reevaluated after two years.

Questions? Please send your question via email to OPStaffAssembly@ucop.edu, and the appropriate person will respond.
