Get moving! Wellness workshop this Thursday, Aug. 28
In case you missed last week’s Kaiser session, you can still catch the latest brown bag in UCOP’s Wellness Program series on health and wellness, cosponsored by Kaiser Permanente’s HealthWorks to help OP staff take charge of their health and fitness.
This month’s topic is “Get Moving!” to help you increase your physical activity, with the final session offered in 5320 Franklin, 12 to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28.
Being physically active can increase your lifespan, your feelings of well-being and your flexibility and strength. And inactivity can increase your risk for heart disease, diabetes, blood pressure and stroke. Learn about the relationship between exercise and good health through guidelines and tips to increase your physical activity.
The workshops, taught by Kaiser health professionals, include fun exercises and tips you can use in your daily routine. There’s no need to sign up; just show up. (Note: These classes do not qualify for UC Living Well incentive points.)
Each month’s workshop features a new topic that will be repeated at both Franklin and Kaiser locations, and all OP staff and retirees and their families are invited to attend.
Look for more workshops in new topics coming through December in the Link online calendar and in future issues of Link.
