Got Veggies? UC wellness challenge encourages healthy eating
Think about what you had for dinner last night. Were there any veggies on your plate?
When you’re busy, it can be easy to forget just how important getting your daily greens — and oranges, purples and whites — can be for your body. That’s why the UC Living Well Got Veggies? challenge invites you to make a four-week commitment to eat at least one cup of vegetables each day.
The challenge is open to employees at all UC locations, retirees, spouses and partners, who are enrolled in a UC-sponsored medical plan. You can join as an individual or, better yet, join or create a team for additional motivation.
Registration started Sept. 17, and the challenge runs Oct. 1 to 28. If you are eligible to participate in the wellness incentive program, you’ll earn 2,500 points toward a $75 Visa® card for completing the challenge.
Plus, you can get extra motivation and tips for how to incorporate vegetables into your everyday meals by calling 1-855-688-9775 to work with a wellness coach during the challenge. If you enroll in a wellness coaching program during September, you’ll be entered to win a Fitbit® Flex™ — a $99 value.
