The UCOP Young Professionals Association (YPA) invites UCOP staff, friends and family to a cleanup day at Oakland’s Channel Park this Saturday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon. (Click link to add event to your calendar.)

Channel Park is a segment of the channel between Lake Merritt and the Oakland estuary that is also a wildlife refuge.

Similar to the beautification day UCOP hosted there last April for Earth Day, volunteers will pick up litter and remove invasive plants to make the area more enjoyable for the community and the wildlife that inhabit the open space.

The park is a short walk from Lake Merritt BART, and volunteers will meet at 20 E. 8^th St. Tools and light refreshments will be provided. Please wear sturdy shoes and bring your own work gloves if desired. Children are welcome. (Note that all volunteers and parents must sign waivers before performing any work.)
