Meet UCOP Climate Hero Ben Tsai

Meet UCOP Climate Hero Ben Tsai

As part of the Cool Campus Challenge, we’re asking participants to spread their admiration for fellow climate crusaders — while earning points for their team! This week’s Climate Hero is Ben Tsai, nominated by Erika Lee. Link connected with Ben to learn more about what motivates him on his quest to reduce his climate impact.

Meet Ben

What are some of the ways in which you try to reduce your climate impact?
I make an effort to take public transportation, separate my waste and use energy-efficient lightbulbs.

Why do you think it’s important to make sustainable choices?
We only have access to one habitable planet, and we’re standing on it!

What’s one green tip you’d like to share with other UCOP employees?
Focus on doing little things that do not seem like much at the time — such as throwing your used napkins into the compost instead of the garbage. You will be amazed by how much these small actions can all add up in reducing your climate impact.

Nominate a colleague

Congratulations to Ben Tsai for his nomination as a Climate Hero! To recommend a UCOP hero, visit the “All Actions” page on the Cool Campus Challenge site and choose “Highlight a Hero” to recognize them. Nominees will be entered into a prize raffle and may be featured in Link! You’ll also earn points for your Cool Campus Challenge team.

Plus, remember to send a special Cool Campus Challenge Gratitude Gram to express your admiration.
