The UC Disability Survey is out now
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. It’s a great time to remember that UC embraces diversity in the workplace and is committed to providing a supportive environment for all faculty, staff and students.
Look for your survey email
On Monday, October 7, all UC faculty and staff received an email from the sender “UC Disability Survey” (ucdisabilitysurvey@willistowerswatson.com) with a secure link to a voluntary disability survey. Please help assess the university’s efforts at becoming a more inclusive community by completing this one-question survey by Nov. 15, 2019. Willis Towers Watson is administering the survey on UC’s behalf, and all information collected will remain confidential. (Learn more about UC’s privacy policy.)
Why this survey is important
As a recipient of federal funds, UC and other federal government contractors are required to invite employees to self-identify their disability status every five years. Although participation is completely voluntary, we encourage you to take a minute to complete the one-question survey as soon as you receive it. UC will use the data collected to measure our employment practices and recruitment efforts. The quality of our data depends on the participation of as many faculty and staff as possible.
How to access support for your disability
UC provides reasonable accommodation to employees who are disabled or become disabled and need assistance to perform the essential functions of their positions. If you need accommodations, please contact Shannon Brooks, accommodation and leave services manager.
