UCOP Return to Normal Operations (R2NO) planning and implementation
As the state of California begins to reopen businesses in phases, UCOP is also beginning to plan for a phased return to on-site operations. The health and wellness of our staff and communities remain our priority and our plans will follow public health and UC systemwide guidelines. The date for initiating the return has not yet been decided and will depend upon our ability to meet these guidelines.
The gradual and phased return to our offices will maintain social distancing requirements in individual workspaces and common areas, such as meeting rooms, kitchens, elevators, restrooms and other shared spaces. In the Oakland buildings, we are also considering how to take advantage of our current work-from-home arrangement to accelerate our office consolidation, which is now resuming in accordance with county guidelines.
The R2NO planning and implementation team, led by Thera Kalmijn, executive director, UCOP Operations, is organized into eight workstreams that include UCOP subject matter experts and key leaders:
- Facilities Readiness and Employee Health and Safety
- Human Resources
- Testing, Screening and Tracing
- Disaster Cost Recovery
- Forecasting COVID-19 Financial Impacts
- Culture and Connectivity
- Communications and Change Management
- Functional Team Special Populations
The R2NO team will continue to provide periodic updates to the UCOP community. Please direct questions to UCOP-COVID19-Response@ucop.edu
