Continuing the Conversation on Race — explore the concept of whiteness

On Wednesday, Aug. 19, attend the next session of UCOP’s new series on understanding racism at work, Continuing the Conversation on Race: The concept of whiteness. Get a deeper understanding of whiteness, white fragility and strategies for managing microaggressions. Participants will be challenged to apply the learning to our current racial climate. Aug 26: Anti-racist leadership: Using SEL to promote understanding

Discover the current leadership skills necessary to become an anti-racist leader. Participants will discover Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) tenets, apply these concepts to a current leadership model and be challenged to shift their personal leadership practice.

Sept. 1: Discussion, question and answer session

Join us as we address questions and engage in dialogue around anti-racism. Participants will converse as a larger group and in small breakout sessions.

About the Continuing the Conversation on Race series

Continuing the Conversation on Race focuses on understanding racism at work, the history and impact of systemic racism and how to become an anti-racist leader. Courses are led by Dr. Rachelle Rogers-Ard, an author, educator and executive director of People, Leadership and Development with the Alameda County Office of Education.
