Become a poll worker for Alameda County

Alameda County is encouraging citizens to help support a fair and safe election by signing up to be poll workers from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3. No special skills are required; however, you must be a registered California State voter to be eligible. Bilingual poll workers are especially needed.

Poll workers play a critical role in making voting accessible to all community members — while being paid to do so. Tasks include:

  • Setting up and closing a polling place
  • Helping voters understand their rights
  • Protecting ballots and voting equipment

Training will be provided by Alameda County, and you’ll be paid for training as well as time served as a poll worker. Depending on your assignment, you could earn up to $400.

Apply online here or call Alameda County at (510) 272-6973. Learn more at the Official Election Site of Alameda County.
