An update to the vacation accrual maximum policy

As many of us had to cancel travel and vacation plans last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, President Drake temporarily lifted the vacation accrual maximum in UC’s Absence from Work policy to provide policy-covered staff with more time to use accrued vacation leave. This temporary change has been extended through Sept. 30, 2021, and is applied automatically through UCPath.
- Through Sept. 30, 2021: Eligible policy-covered staff will continue to accrue vacation leave, even if they are over their maximum accrual.
- Beginning Oct. 1, 2021: Policy-covered staff who have surplus leave, and who have had at least four additional months to take this leave during the extension, will not accrue leave until their balance is below their maximum.
To find your maximum vacation leave accrual, log in to UCPath Online, then select Employee Actions > Leave Balances. Refer to the bottom of the chart.
For more information, policy-covered staff can also refer to the UC Absence from Work Policy (PPSM-2.210). Section III.B.5 describes the maximum vacation accrual limit and the extension that is allowed per policy under certain circumstances.

I would like some clarifications regarding vacation accrual maximum policy.
Per Link news letter published on Jun 1, 2021 which stated,
Through Sept. 30, 2021: Eligible policy-covered staff will continue to accrue vacation leave, even if they are over their maximum accrual.
I have heard from a number of employees that the books close a month earlier as a result accrual is till the end of Aug 2021 and not Sep 30, 2021 per link news letter.
Would you kindly confirm the actual and real date through which policy-covered staff are entitled to accrue vacation beyond the maximum.
