A new personal leadership certificate
UCOP Learning and Development is proud offer a new certification series — the Pillars of Personal Leadership. If you are a current or aspiring UCOP leader who is interested in furthering your leadership skills, this series is for you! Gain insights on discovering your purpose, solidifying your personal leadership skills and preparing for future leadership opportunities during this three-course series. Upon completion of all three classes, you will earn a Pillars of Personal Leadership certification.

Foundations of Personal Leadership
July 14, 12 – 2 p.m. (PT)
How we see ourselves has a big impact on our ability to achieve our personal and career goals. Learn how our personal histories and narratives solidify who we are and what we accomplish in life. Explore and define your purpose in life and prepare yourself to achieve it. Course outcomes: Craft personal identity and purpose statements, and a deep understanding of what is possible for you.
The Root of Personal Leadership
July 28, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (PT)
Building on what we learned in the first session, we will explore how our perspective, beliefs, values and choices impact what we want to contribute in our careers, community and the world at large. Course outcomes: Craft personal mission and vision statements, define our core values and document one solid goal.
Key Personal Skills
August 11, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (PT)
In this final session, we will explore personal responsibility, learn the necessary skills to excel in personal leadership, and discover the steps required to create a personal and professional development plan.
Learn from one of UCOP’s own leaders
Ola Popoola will lead all courses in this series. In addition to serving as director of reporting and analytics for Institutional Research and Academic Planning at OP, Ola is the founder of Divine Strategies for Living, where she serves as a keynote speaker, life coach, personal development coach and career coach.
