Build your skills while connecting with colleagues from all UCOP locations during these live online classes. Develop your career

Aspiring Leaders Development Program: Information Sessions
July 27, 1 – 1:30 p.m., and Aug. 6, 11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Come learn about the new UCOP Aspiring Leadership Development Program, an experiential professional development program. This opportunity is offered to UCOP staff who are interested in exploring leadership roles and career development. It will provide UCOP employees opportunities to learn leadership skills without holding a formal leadership position. Participants will attend six two-hour workshops in September, October and January.

Sept. 2, 2 – 3 p.m.
My UC Career is an online development portal available to all UC employees seeking to advance their careers. During this session, you will receive a demo of the portal and what it can do for you.

Zoom Advanced
Aug. 12, 10 – 11 a.m.
Topics will include: personal meeting IDs, advanced web portal settings, advanced scheduling options, advanced sharing options and annotation, polling, breakout rooms, reporting and cloud recording. A Q&A session will follow.

Excel PivotTables Techniques
Aug. 12, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Register by Aug. 6)
Learn tips and tricks for Excel PivotTables and find out how they can be an invaluable tool in helping you analyze data and present conclusions in compelling ways. If you have been using PivotTables and are wondering what more you can do with them, or need help overcoming obstacles, this workshop will help you get outstanding results.

Creating Accessible PDFs
Aug. 31, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
IT Accessibility is about empowering users with disabilities to easily access and engage with online resources. Many of these resources, such as tax forms, annual reports and policy documents, are PDFs. We will cover how to create accessible Word documents, which can be easily converted into accessible PDFs, and to identify basic accessibility issues using Adobe’s accessibility checker.

Managing Implicit Bias, Extending your Learning
Aug. 18, 9 – 11 a.m.
Debrief the popular UC Managing Implicit Bias series with UCOP colleagues. Discuss challenges and strategies for managing implicit bias and walk away with a greater understanding of your own implicit biases, as well as your ability to promote equity, diversity and inclusion wherever you are. Prerequisite: You must complete the UC Managing Implicit Bias series before registering for this class.
