Reminder of UCOP office closures for winter break
UCOP will offices will close for winter holidays and curtailment beginning at the end of this week. All UCOP offices will reopen on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022.
Schedules are included below. Please note that each department head may identify essential services that must be must be maintained during this period and plan for staffing accordingly.
Oakland, Sacramento and UCDC staff
For the winter break, UCOP offices in Oakland, Sacramento and Washington, D.C. will observe three curtailment days per normal practice prior to the pandemic. Offices will be closed beginning Thursday, Dec. 23, and continuing through Sunday, Jan. 2, as follows:
- UC holidays (paid): Dec. 23, 24, 30, and 31
- Office closure (unpaid): Dec. 27, 28 and 29
UCPath staff
The UCPath Center will continue critical operations in support of UC employees during the winter closure. UCPath employees should check with their supervisors regarding work schedules during this period. UCPath offices will be fully closed Dec. 23, 24, 30 and 31 (paid).
Timecoding options for curtailment days
Eligible employees can use vacation, compensatory time or leave without pay to cover any curtailment days during the winter break closure. There will be no required days without pay for the 2021 curtailment. If you haven’t accumulated enough vacation leave by December to cover those days, arrangements can be made for you to borrow against future vacation time.
