Town hall wrap-up: Future of Work efforts and return to on-site operations plans
Thank you to all staff who attended and participated in the Dec. 16 town hall on our Future of Work efforts and return to on-site operations plans.
The event was hosted by Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Rachael Nava. She opened with a Native American land acknowledgement, followed by a welcome address in which she thanked staff for their efforts over the past year.
Executive Vice President and Head of University of California Health Dr. Carrie L. Byington then provided an informative update on COVID-19, the Omicron variant and UC’s pandemic response.
Executive Director of UCOP Operations Thera Kalmijn followed, bringing staff up to date on UCOP plans for the Future of Work and returning to offices. She was supported by members of the Future of Work and COVID-19 response teams, including Executive Director of UCPath Calvin Turner, Executive Director of UCOP Human Resources Nancy Pluzdrak and Building and Administrative Services Director Steve Murray.
Following their presentations, panel members answered pre-submitted and live staff questions. Unfortunately, even with additional time, we were unable to address all questions. We are compiling a Q&A and will share it as soon as possible at the start of the new year. We are planning to host an additional Town Hall to address more questions early next year.
