Inclusion, well-being and personal growth

Belonging and Inclusion Toward an Anti-Racist Organization — New!
Feb. 3, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Led by popular instructor Dr. Rachelle Rogers Ard, Ed.D., this workshop will deeply explore the application and behaviors of the UCOP Core Competency of Belonging and Inclusion. Explore the emotional depths associated with feelings of inclusion and belonging, awareness of your own values and the element of race. Review concrete examples of change and learn the hard questions necessary for building lasting change.

Mindfulness at UCOP
Feb. 4, 10 – 11 a.m.
Learn to feel more present, enhance your awareness and focus and increase your effectiveness at work through simple mindfulness techniques.

New Employee Orientation
Feb. 8, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Starting a new job can be daunting. Our orientation is designed to facilitate a smooth transition to the organization, with topics including UC and its history, UCOP overview, tools and resources, safety and compliance. New employees should attend orientation as soon as possible.

Hybrid and remote workplace

Making Connections in a Hybrid World

Connection is a crucial component in building engagement, and a productive and efficient workplace. It is widely noted that when people feel connected, healthy working relationships that foster collaboration improve. In this interactive workshop, you’ll experience and learn tools and techniques that can support connection in our remote and hybrid world. Bring ideas to share!

The Remarkable Hybrid Worker

Learn to successfully navigate hybrid work environments where you may be working with colleagues who are on-site, remote or a mixture of both. Discover how to be more productive, manage stress, practice self-care and stay motivated. Improve your people/emotional skills as well as the practical/operational side of your work. As a bonus, all attendees will receive access to a 21 Practices eCourse and the Hello Mindful app.

Cascade CMS – Accessibility Workflow
Feb. 4, 2 – 4 p.m.
People who create content for ucop.edu using our Cascade content management system need to take steps prior to publication to ensure content is accessible to those with disabilities. This workshop will overview what you need to know — and why it’s important.

Box Fundamentals
Feb. 16, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Get an overview of Box Drive and have your questions answered! Administrators from IT will be on hand to answer your questions and review the best features.

Zoom Advanced
Feb. 17, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
In this course for advanced Zoom users, we’ll cover personal meeting IDs; advanced web portal settings scheduling options, sharing options and annotation; polling; breakout rooms; reporting and cloud recording.

Microsoft Excel Macros
Feb. 25, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Register by Feb. 21)
Learn what Macros are really about, how they work behind the scenes and how they can help you add functionality to your Excel workbooks. This workshop will provide an overview of Macros and step-by-step demonstrations for using them.

Records Management 101

GROWing your Check-in Conversations — Required
Two-hours; several sessions available.

This workshop is part of the three-year training plan designed by the Performance Appraisal workgroup made up of colleagues from across UCOP. Managers will get practice using the STEP GROW framework during Check-ins, as well as tips and strategies for providing and receiving employee feedback.
