Stay Informed. Stay Connected.

Connect with colleagues and expand your awareness

Two upcoming courses from UCOP Learning and Development will allow you to connect with colleagues while expanding your own knowledge of others and the world around you.

3Practice Circle sessions

3Practice Circle sessions facilitate dialogue between colleagues and help us connect as a community by providing a structured safe space for participants to learn about other people’s experiences, share their own experiences, identify and talk through challenges and find a path toward bridging differences. A 3Practice Circle isn’t a debate, discussion or therapy group; it’s a safe space for clarity and understanding — with no obligation to agree — and an opportunity to exercise your listening and communication skills.

Managing Implicit Bias: A Conversation

Some virtual learning opportunities are more impactful when you have an opportunity to discuss them with colleagues. Such is the case with UC Managing Implicit Bias, a six-course online training series designed to increase awareness of implicit bias and reduce its impact at the university.

If you’ve completed this series, consider joining colleagues for a follow-up debrief conversation on Feb. 2, from 10 – 12 p.m. Together, we will discuss challenges and strategies for managing implicit bias. You’ll walk away with a greater understanding of your own implicit biases and your ability to promote equity, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of your life. Register for the Feb. 2 session here.
