Improving your social and emotional awareness can improve your personal and professional experiences. UCOP offers several upcoming learning opportunities to help you build these important skill sets.

Social Emotional Learning at Work: Creating Connection and Belonging at UCOP
May 10 & May 17, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Incorporating the principles of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) at work enhances the ability to communicate and connect with a range of people in healthy ways. Research indicates that focusing on SEL elements at work can lead to greater employee satisfaction and retention across the organization. In this workshop, SEL expert, author and popular UCOP facilitator Rachelle Rogers-Ard, Ph.D., will provide frameworks and interactive exercises to support building connections between peers and teams. Participants will learn SEL elements and reflect on how to embed them within UCOP competencies.

Mindfulness at UCOP
May 19, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Less stress, improved health, and enhanced awareness and focus are some of the benefits shown in research studies on mindfulness. In this one-hour workshop, you will learn how to reduce stress and increase your effectiveness at work through simple mindfulness techniques.
