Save the dates: Making Power Moves and Take Charge courses return in January 2024

UCOP Learning and Development (L&D) is pleased to sponsor two upcoming courses taught by Amy Levine, Ed.D., a certified leadership coach, educator, and consultant — Making Power Moves: Women and Leadership and Take Charge: Developing a Career Strategy.

Making Power Moves: Women in Leadership

Making Power Moves is an exceptional career development opportunity for high-performing women and women-identifying individuals who manage people or projects. The course is sponsored by L&D in partnership with the President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (PACSW). It is designed expressly for UCOP staff and the unique environment of our organization. Making Power Moves is a fabulous opportunity to help boost your professional and career development goals. This course has received overwhelmingly positive feedback and has resulted in great outcomes for past participants.

  • Dates: Held every Wednesday, Jan. 10 – March 13, 2024 (10 sessions total)
  • Time: 3 to 6 p.m. (PT)
  • Location: Virtual, via Zoom
  • Program Cost: $1,000
  • Applications accepted: Nov. 7 – Dec. 8, 2023

Take Charge: Developing a Career Strategy

If you’re an administrative, support or entry-level staff member who’s ready to take your career to the next level, check out Take Charge: Developing a Career Strategy. This six-month L&D-sponsored program will give you the tools you need to thrive in the workplace for years to come.

Course outcomes:

  • Increase your ability to better manage your career development
  • Expand your professional network
  • Experience more job satisfaction
  • Improve your relationship with your manager

Session info

  • Dates: Held bi-weekly on Thursdays, Jan. 25 – June 13, 2024 (12 sessions total)
  • Time: Session lengths vary from one to two hours and take place from either 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. (PT)
  • Location: Virtual, via Zoom
  • Applications accepted: Oct. 31 – Dec. 8, 2023
