Celebrate Dia de los Muertos with LaSA
It’s that time of year again! Members of the UCOP Latinx Staff Association (LaSA) are preparing to celebrate Dia de los Muertos — Day of the Dead — by setting up virtual and physical ofrendas (altars) and decorating calaveras (sugar skulls).
Contribute to our ofrendas
Colleagues at all locations are encouraged to contribute to our virtual ofrenda!
The physical ofrenda will be in the Oakland Franklin building lobby from Oct. 25 through Nov. 2.
Please bring photos and other items that remind you of your departed loved ones. You can also write a note and leave it in a vase on the ofrenda.
(Please write your name on the back of any photos/decorations that you would like returned to you. We will safely discard the notes when the ofrenda is taken down for your privacy).
Decorate a calavera
Sugar skull decorating will be on Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 12 – 1:30 p.m. in Broadway 4001.
Please RSVP by Wednesday, Oct. 25 so we can purchase appropriate supplies. Download an event flyer (PDF).
For questions or more information, contact Alina Tejera or Juliann Martinez, or visit the LaSA website.
