Veterans Among US (VAUS) is UCOP’s newest employee resource group. This month, they organized a Selfless Service photo project to build a sense of community and camaraderie among UCOP staff.
The Selfless Service photo project recognizes veterans and service members, past and present, who work at UCOP and those connected to UCOP employees.
Why “selfless service”? It is part of the seven Army values of the acronym LDRSHIP, which is the Army’s foundation of service: to people, the country and to each other:
“Put the welfare of the nation, the Army and your subordinates before your own. Selfless service is larger than just one person. In serving your country, you are doing your duty loyally without thought of recognition or gain. The basic building block of selfless service is the commitment of each team member to go a little further, endure a little longer, and look a little closer to see how he or she can add to the effort.”
