President Drake approves 2025-26 salary increases for policy-covered employees
Interim UCOP Chief Human Resources Officer Dianna Henderson sent the following message to all UCOP staff on Wednesday, June 25, 2025:
Dear UCOP colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that President Drake has formally approved the 2025-26 systemwide salary program. The 3.2% salary increase for policy-covered staff and academic appointees at all locations recognizes the extraordinary efforts of employees during this past year.
Pay increases will take effect on July 1, 2025, for employees who are paid monthly and on June 22 for those who are paid bi-weekly (First designated bi-weekly pay period for FY2025-26).
To be eligible for the increase, employees must have received a performance rating of “solid performance” or higher or “new and learning” (tracking up) on their 2024-2025 performance review, completed required training on or before June 30, and have a start date on or before January 6, 2025.
We are working to implement this year’s salary increase as quickly as possible. Our goal is for eligible employees who are paid monthly to see the increase reflected in their August 1 paycheck, and in July 30 paychecks for those who are paid bi-weekly. UCOP division leaders and managers have received additional implementation details about the 2025-26 salary program from UCOP Human Resources.
The regular peer-review merit advancement process for policy-covered academic appointees will continue per academic personnel policy. Salary increases for union-represented employees and academic appointees are governed separately by the relevant collective bargaining agreements.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your department’s Human Resources business partner.
As always, a heartfelt thank you for your dedication and all you do for UC and the people we serve.
Sincerely,
Dianna Henderson
Interim UCOP Chief Human Resources Officer
