GROWing Your Check–In Conversations for Managers
Oct. 30, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
GROW is a popular coaching framework used worldwide for problem solving, goal setting and performance improvement. This interactive session allows managers to discuss and practice using the GROW framework as a strategy and tool to support engaging STEP checkpoint conversations. Note: The e-course “GROWing your Checkpoint Conversations” must be taken before this class.

Manager Essentials at UCOP: Compensation
Nov. 4, 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Join us for a live, virtual, instructor-led session on UCOP Compensation policies and procedures. This course is required for all new UCOP managers and supervisors. Experienced managers are also welcome to attend. For more information about ME@UCOP, read the series overview.

ME@UCOP Managing in the Modern Workplace
Nov. 5, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
In person class: Oakland Broadway 4001
Learn UCOP processes and strategies that support building inclusive and engaged teams. Topics include: managing remote and hybrid teams, people development and fostering community and belonging as a manager. This course is required for all new UCOP managers and supervisors. People Leader Forum – Fostering Resilient Teams During Uncertain Times
Nov. 7, 1 – 2 p.m.
The People Leader Forum is a monthly opportunity for managers to connect to develop leadership skills, build community, share best practices, swap strategies for navigating current challenges and learn to better support themselves and their teams. Our Dec. 5 session will focus on team wellness.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to share and learn career skills and leadership practices, guide and navigate the UCOP culture, and establish long-term professional relationships. Review the program FAQ and register for an info session!  Then, apply and/or recommend someone to mentor others or apply to be a mentee by Dec. 5.  

2026 Making Power Moves
The President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women, in partnership with Learning and Development, is pleased to sponsor Making Power Moves: a cohort focused on career advancement strategies with an emphasis on how social and cultural factors influence professional growth and leadership opportunities.
