Tuesday’s Oakland blood drive still needs several donors

UCOP retiree Jan Kehoe (left) takes a selfie with and longtime blood donor Trish Dolan, senior design analyst, after participating in UCOP’s July 22, 2025, Red Cross blood drive.
This Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., UCOP is hosting a blood drive for the American Red Cross in Lobby 1 of the Oakland Franklin building.
We are actively seeking participants! There have been several cancellations, and we have many open appointments that we hope to fill. To reserve a time, please text Jan Kehoe at (510) 432-6520.
Why participate
The U.S. is experiencing a blood shortage emergency and blood donors are urgently needed now to help ensure patients at hospitals across the country continue to receive critical medical care. Donating blood only takes about an hour — and you could save three lives!
