Update to COVID-19 reporting and tracking
UCOP has long aligned its COVID-19 policies with public health guidance and regulatory requirements. In accordance with these regulations, we ended most COVID-related protocols last year, including testing requirements, event guidelines and distributing free test kits. As of February, you are no longer required to report positive COVID-19 test results to UCOP, and on March 23, 2026, we will retire the Coronavirus website and COVID-19 Case Reporting Dashboard.
Updated vaccination requirements
In Dec. 2025, we shared updates to UC’s vaccination policy, which added a “recommended” category for certain vaccines, depending on location and role. COVID-19 and seasonal influenza (flu) vaccines are recommended for UCOP employees. Contact us for vaccine policy questions.
General health and safety reminder
If you feel sick, or have symptoms of illness, contact your manager or supervisor and stay at home. Respiratory illnesses in particular can spread quickly in an office environment.
Thank you for the care, flexibility and shared responsibility you have demonstrated over the past several years in supporting the health and well-being of our colleagues.

As a member of the Steering Committee for Allies for All Abilities, the disabled employees (and allies) affinity group, and hopefully soon to be an ERG, I would appreciate knowing which office and/or person makes decisions regarding Covid guidance and mitigations for UCOP before sending these communications. I think we would like to invite them to one of our meetings. Thank you.
