The University of California is navigating an era of geopolitical uncertainty, shifting federal policy and deepening global inequity — a perfect time to reimagine what internationalization means for one of the world’s premier public university systems.

Beginning next Tuesday, UC faculty, administrators, international partners and alumni from throughout the UC system will convene to tackle these challenging issues at the next UC Systemwide Academic Congress: Shaping Global Futures — International Education in the California Context.

Produced by UC Academic Affairs, in partnership with the UC Education Abroad Program, this Congress will explore a forward-looking strategy for global engagement rooted in California’s distinctive values and responsibilities through conversations on equitable research partnerships, workforce readiness, “glocal” learning and the support of international students
