Learn to protect yourself with safety courses from UCOP
Unfortunately, we hear every day about situations where unstable people or those with bad intentions impact the safety of those around them. The best way to protect yourself during an emergency is to gain a basic understanding of personal safety so that you’ll be prepared to act if the need arises.
Two upcoming courses offered in partnership with UCOP Safety and UCOP Learning and Development are designed to help you do just that. Select each course name below to register.
UCOP Safety: Basic Awareness
Oct. 10, 9 – 10 a.m. | Nov. 3, 2 – 3 p.m. | Dec. 3, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Melissa Collins, program manager for security, risk and resilience, will facilitate this live virtual class, providing basic safety tips to help you feel informed, alert and safe as you travel to and from the workplace. Extra time is allotted for questions and feedback.
UCOP Safety: Active Attacker Training
Oct. 15, 10 – 11a.m. | Nov. 13, 3 – 4 p.m. | Dec. 5, 2 – 3 p.m.
This live virtual class will teach you skills and strategies to respond if you’re exposed to an active-attacker situation. We’ll review real-life incidents and discuss options in the event of similar encounters.
