Join colleagues throughout UC for the Bloom Wellness Challenge
Step into spring stronger! All UCOP staff are invited to join the UC Bloom Wellness Challenge, a fun, springtime physical activity challenge taking place from May 4 through May 31. From cherry blossoms in Japan to lavender fields in France and Texas bluebonnets in full bloom, this global journey of renewal inspires you to get moving, build connections and boost well-being.
Who can participate?
Everyone! Whether you’re just starting out or exercise has been part of your daily routine for a while, Bloom gives you simple, motivating tools to track progress, providing instant feedback from your favorite tracking device or app. Those with physical activities are welcome to participate.
How does it work?
Track your daily steps using your favorite device or by recording exercise minutes. Bloom will convert minutes to steps based on your activity. All exercise minutes count, from walking to yoga, cycling, swimming and wheelchair travel.
Based on how many steps you accrue throughout the day, you’ll receive virtual prizes. Accrue 4,000 steps to reveal captivating springtime photos and videos, then collect blossoms for your virtual branch, color-coded by activity level — white (6,000 steps), yellow (8,000 steps), and pink (10,000 steps). Your goal throughout the four-week challenge is to collect as many blossoms as you can.
