UCOP’s second holiday flex-week of the year is approaching: Memorial Day week, May 25-29, 2026. UCOP has three designated weeks per year where employees have the option to work remotely, subject to core on-site operational needs: the first week of January, the week of Memorial Day and Thanksgiving week.

Holiday and floating flex-weeks, which are one part of UCOP’s FlexWork program, are designed to offer additional flexibility throughout the year.

Floating flex-week

UCOP employees with a hybrid work arrangement are offered one additional week per calendar year when they can choose to work anywhere in the U.S. (50 states and the District of Columbia), subject to job duties, core on-site operational needs, and supervisor approval of timing.

Because of the unique work the Systemwide Shared Services (RASC and UCPath) teams perform on behalf of UC employees, members and retirees, Labor Day week (Sept. 7-11) will be a shared remote work week for staff in lieu of a floating flex-week.
