Don’t wait to take action during Open Enrollment, which closes Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 5 p.m.

If you are currently enrolled in one of the UC medical plans that is being discontinued, be sure to log on to the Open Enrollment website to make a new choice soon.

Typically, the final two days of the Open Enrollment period are the busiest for both the benefits offices and online. That means you can anticipate heavy traffic on the site during those final days. So, don’t put off your changes until the last minute.

Take action now:

1. If you are currently enrolled in Anthem Blue Cross PLUS or PPO, Anthem Lumenos PPO with HRA, or Health Net full network HMO, you need to choose a new plan. See the Open Enrollment website for all the information and tools you need to make a choice.
2. If you want to participate in the Health Flexible Spending Account (Health FSA) and/or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DepCare FSA), you must re-enroll to participate in 2014, even if you are currently already enrolled in these plans. Note: if you choose the new Blue Shield Health Savings Plan as your medical plan, you cannot enroll in the Health FSA.

If you are not changing your medical or dental plan, adding or de-enrolling family members, or re-enrolling in either of the FSA plans mentioned in item 2 above, you do not need to take action for your 2014 coverage.

Open Enrollment closes Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at 5 p.m.
