PACSW presents: Parenting and the pandemic age
Depending on how you look at it, parenting can be rewarding, exhausting, an art or a science. Many parents are feeling more ill-equipped than usual these days, as we try to manage our own stress and overwhelm while juggling personal and professional responsibilities during a disorienting time. So, how do we bring our “A game” to parenting during this pandemic age? Do we even need to have an “A game,” or is a “B game” okay?
On Friday, Aug. 20, from 12-1 p.m., join the President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (PACSW) and LCSW Alison King for a special conversation on today’s parenting challenges. We’ll cover topics like:
- Managing back to school anxiety
- The parenting goal of social-emotional skill development
- A discussion about the “good enough” parenting paradigm
- Ways to help kids accept change and tolerate uncertainty to help prepare them for the future
