EVP/COO Rachael Nava sent the following message to all UCOP staff on Monday, Aug. 16, 2021.

Dear UCOP colleagues:

As a follow-up to my note to you in June, I am writing to share with you the UC Community Safety Plan, which is being distributed to the UC community. The plan, a letter and video message from President Drake to the UC community, and related information are now available online.

The plan creates a framework for improving safety throughout the university and ensuring that students, faculty, staff, visitors and patients feel welcomed, respected and protected from harm. It also is intended to evolve over time, as we refine best practices for ensuring that UC campuses and locations are safe, respectful environments that reflect the needs and values of our diverse community.

President Drake and I send our deep thanks to everyone for their valuable contributions to this important ongoing work.
