Oakland employees: Franklin garage EV charging stations are back online
After replacing a failed transformer and passing inspection, the Building and Administrative Service Center (BASC) is pleased to announce the electric vehicle charging stations are once again available in the Franklin garage. The EV charging stations are available on a first-come, first-served basis as follows:
Franklin Garage EV Charging Stations
EV Charging Station Type | No. of Spaces | Parking Level |
Cost* |
120-volt AC wall outlet | 30 | Throughout garage | No added charge |
ChargePoint 240-volt rapid charging station | 2 | 2 | Pay per use at the kiosk |
*Parking rates and EV charging costs in UCOP-managed garages for the Franklin-Broadway campus are subject to change with prior notice.
Be considerate of your colleagues when charging your EV
- Rapid charging station spaces are clearly marked, as shown in the photo at the top of this article. Do not park your car in an EV spot if you are not charging your car.
- If use an EV spot for charging, move your car to another spot once it’s finished so that someone else can charge.
- You can leave your car parked in the parking spaces with the AC wall outlets that are located throughout the garage
- Park within the lines of your parking space so that others can park in the space next to you.
More Franklin garage charging stations are coming soon
BASC plans to add four more 240-volt EV rapid charging stations in the Franklin Garage on Level 3. Installation is expected to be completed in late spring.
