Basketball tickets still available for Feb. 26 Cal Women’s game

Don't miss this opportunity to get tickets at just $3 for adults and $1 for youth to attend the Cal Women's basketball game against Oregon State. Did You Know?

Social Security withholding rate reduced in 2011

Monthly paid employees will notice a change in their February 1 paychecks due to reduced Social Security withholding for 2011 from 6.2 percent to 4.2 percent. Because the change was not implemented in time to affect the January 3, 2011 paycheck, monthly employees paid on that date were subject to Social Security withholding tax at the old rate. Employees will be refunded the difference in the Feb. 1 paycheck.

The program gives students in grades 8-12 a chance to spend four weeks at UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Santa Cruz, or UC San Diego this summer learning about astronomy, biomedical sciences, engineering, robotics and more.

A fond farewell to Dr. Susan Wilbur

In a celebration of all she has accomplished, UC's director of undergraduate admissions was honored by colleagues at a Jan. 11 reception. Wilbur will retire at the end of January after 31 years of university service.
