The Broadway Shuttle recently added service from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturdays to its 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekday service to improve accessibility to Oakland's growing arts and entertainment scene.
Professor William Priedhorsky, program director of Laboratory-Directed Research and Development at Los Alamos National Laboratory, will speak at UCOP on Tuesday, July 19, 12 to 1 p.m., in 11326 Franklin in a talk hosted by VP Steve Beckwith.

Rates for most faculty and staff will rise to 3.5 percent of pay, up from roughly 2 percent for most employees. You will see the amounts reflected in paychecks for July earnings, out between July 20 and August 6.
Check the online schedule for UC's upcoming financial planning classes. Classes are scheduled July, August and September in both the Franklin and Kaiser buildings.

Matthew Leet of Building Services asks that Franklin Building staff go easy on what they put down the garbage disposal to avoid clogging the drains. Please use the compost bins and trash receptacles for all but minimal amounts of food waste.

Beginning July 1, UC Retirement Plan rates for most faculty and staff will rise to 3.5 percent of pay, up from roughly 2 percent for most employees. The university will pay 7 percent of pay, up from 4 percent.
