UCOP Cares: Volunteer opportunities with College Track
You’re invited to a brown bag presentation to hear about volunteer opportunities with College Track. Located just a few blocks from the Franklin building, College Track is a local after-school college prep program serving Oakland youth.
The presentation by College Track staff will take place at noon on Tuesday, March 16th in Room 5320, Franklin. Come on out and hear about a variety of opportunities available to UCOP volunteers!
We look forward to seeing you there!
ABOUT COLLEGE TRACK
College Track is an after-school, college preparatory program that helps students from under-resourced communities graduate from high school and succeed in college. Through a three-tiered approach of direct services, community partnerships, and advocacy, College Track is working to serve a critical mass of high school students and helping to transform low-income communities into places where college readiness and college graduation are the norms.
Currently, College Track serves over 580 high school students at four centers in East Palo Alto, Oakland, San Francisco, and New Orleans. In addition, College Track’s 275 college students attend more than 60 colleges and universities throughout California and across the country.
I have a friend (a former UCOP employee) who volunteered with College Track a few years ago and found it very rewarding.
